It drops a semi-professional gamer, killed by mistake during a botched resurrection, into the body of a heavyset farmer in a world that runs on levels and statistics. A New Zealander of Māori and European descent, Kerei works in LitRPG, the strand of fantasy that puts those numbers on the page for the reader to see. Death, Loot & Vampires began a second series in 2023. Vincent, an ordinary family man, is pulled through a summoning ritual by a cult of humans hoping to become vampires, is turned into one himself, and then sets about protecting the relatives summoned alongside him. Dry comedy does most of the work in both.
