Beryll Brackhaus

Beryll Brackhaus writes speculative romance in collaboration with Osiris Brackhaus, and their shared work often combines supernatural premises with humor. Loving Djinni, released in 2016, is credited to both writers. It follows David, an art dealer with forgery skills, whose work around an Egyptian tomb brings him into contact with a lamp and the djinni bound to it. The resulting story mixes paranormal romance, adventure, and comic complications while presenting the magical figure as a disruptive presence. The novel also received recognition in the 2016 Rainbow Awards. For Beryll Brackhaus, Loving Djinni represents a clearly collaborative method: the byline, premise, and publication belong to the Brackhaus partnership. Its combination of antiquities, deception, wish-bound magic, and developing affection fits the pair’s interest in genre stories where an unusual external problem forces characters to reconsider the lives they have built. The shared authorship is therefore essential to understanding both the book’s identity and the creative partnership behind its blend of romance and fantasy.
