Two decades of health and psychology journalism sit behind Camille Pagán's fiction. She read English at Michigan, took the Radcliffe Publishing Course, wrote for Glamour, Fitness and Women's Health, and served as health editor at Real Simple; she has also appeared in the New York Times, Time, Parade and WebMD. Life and Other Near-Death Experiences (2015) sends Libby Miller to Vieques in Puerto Rico after a cancer diagnosis and the collapse of her marriage arrive in the same week; it topped the Amazon Charts and was optioned for film by Jessica Chastain's company. Forever is the Worst Long Time (2017) follows a stalled novelist, James Hernandez, through years of wanting Lou Bell, the poet who marries his oldest friend Rob. Good for You (2023) strands a suspended magazine editor in a Lake Michigan house left jointly to her and her late brother's closest friend. Pagán lives in Ann Arbor. Through her company Even Better Co. she sells one-to-one coaching and courses to novelists, and hosts the Career Novelist podcast.
