Carolina De Robertis

De Robertis was born in England to Uruguayan parents and raised between England, Switzerland and California, and worked for years in organisations supporting survivors of violence against women before turning to fiction. Cantoras follows five queer women in Uruguay under the dictatorship who buy a shack on a remote stretch of coast and go back to it for decades. The Gods of Tango and The Invisible Mountain are the others most read in English. She translates from Spanish, teaches in California, and is nonbinary.
