Casey Nowak

Girl Town is a collection of short comics about intimacy, friendship and being stuck, credited on different editions to both Casey Nowak and Carolyn Nowak; it is the same cartoonist. Two of the stories in it, Radishes and Diana's Electric Tongue, had already taken Ignatz awards, and the collection was nominated for an Eisner in 2019. The drawing is soft and the dialogue is very exact about how people avoid saying things. She studied at the Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont.
