Catherine Anderson has written more than thirty award-winning historical and contemporary romances, often placing family repair and trust at the center. Always in My Heart, published by Signet in 2002, brings divorced parents Ellie and Tucker Grant into the Oregon wilderness after their sons try to reunite them. Coming Up Roses is a historical romance set on an Oregon farm in 1890; Berkley issued its 2012 edition. Both novels use Oregon landscapes, but one tests a modern family away from home while the other places its characters within a nineteenth-century farming community. The American West also anchors Anderson's long-running Coulter, Harrigan, and Mystic Creek stories. She lives in Montana.
