CB Laurence

CB Laurence creates historical mysteries through intersecting lives, long-kept secrets, and American settings. She began the Express Investigations sequence during the 2020 shutdown after returning to sustained writing following a long pause. Road to the Mansfield opens that sequence with three stories moving through Louisiana, Illinois, and Georgia in early twentieth-century America. Francie Roubideaux, Rose Donovan, and attorney Beau Hartwell follow separate routes toward Hollywood's Mansfield Supper Club, where their experiences finally converge. The 2022 novel combines historical drama with the foundation of an investigation series and continues in subsequent Mansfield books. Laurence's author biography links the project to an interest in music and notes that she lived in Phoenix for two decades before settling in Texas. Her broader catalogue includes connected historical narratives and short fiction. By arranging several regional perspectives around a shared destination, Road to the Mansfield establishes both the series chronology and Laurence's preference for ensemble storytelling.
