Cheryl Campbell

Cheryl Campbell writes contemporary sports romance shaped by baseball, family ties, and interconnected friend groups. Trouble at First begins the Decker Connection with Ashleigh Decker and first baseman Cole Davidson. Ashleigh takes a summer role with a baseball team while concealing her connection to the owners of the major-league organization Cole hopes to join. That hidden identity places career ambition and family influence beside the developing relationship. Campbell began writing after a period of intensive reading. Cheryl Campbell Books released Trouble at First in 2023. She has explained that the series grew from her wish to create a recurring circle of characters whose stories could stand separately while sharing the same social world. Sliding into Home, Living the Suite Life, and The Final Draft continue the Decker Connection. Trouble at First establishes the baseball setting, the Decker family network, and the blend of humor and romantic conflict carried into those later books.
