CiCi Cordelia is the shared byline of Char Chaffin and Cheryl Yeko, two American romance writers who met while working as editors at Soul Mate Publishing and who each publish under their own names as well. Their joint work runs to contemporary, historical western and fantasy romance, and has placed in industry contests including InD'Tale Magazine's RONE Award and the International Digital Awards. The Substitute Wife begins Brides of Little Creede, set in a Colorado silver mining town in the late nineteenth century. A miner sends home for the fiancee he left four years earlier, and her sister Retta arrives by stagecoach instead, with a small daughter and a written plea from the dying woman that he marry and provide for them both.
