Corinna Luyken
1978
Luyken makes picture books where the drawing carries the argument. The Book of Mistakes begins with an eye drawn too large and turns every later error into part of a growing scene, so a reader watches a mistake become the reason the picture works. My Heart runs a single continuous image of a heart changing shape across the pages, closed and open, cracked and whole, giving young readers language for feelings nobody has handed them words for. She works mostly in ink and a limited palette.
