D.N. Erikson builds urban and paranormal fantasy around supernatural bounty hunters, demons, vampires, and characters returned from death. The author’s series include the Half-Demon Rogue, Ruby Callaway, Eden Hunter, and Tess Skye books. Rain Dance was the earlier title of Soul Storm, the first volume of the Eden Hunter Trilogy. Its central character, Eden Hunter, works as a soul reaper after being restored to life by the ancient vampire Aldric. The story combines an investigative plot with magical tattoos, supernatural factions, and Eden’s uneasy relationship with the figure responsible for her earlier death. Erikson adopted the current title in 2018. This adventure belongs within her broader urban fantasy rather than standing apart as an unrelated romance. Rain Dance and Soul Storm therefore refer to the same opening adventure, not two separate Eden Hunter books. That title history explains why older editions and the author’s current series order use different names for the work.
