Cassie Alexander is a registered nurse in California, and she puts the day job to direct use: her debut, Nightshifted (St. Martin's Press, 2012), began the Edie Spence urban fantasy series about a night-shift nurse on a hospital ward reserved for supernatural patients. Five of her titles belong to Dark Ink Tattoo, an independently published run set around a Las Vegas parlour where the ink itself carries power. Blood of the Pack opens it, then Blood at Dusk, Blood by Midnight, Blood by Moonlight and Blood at Dawn, with Blood of the Dead finishing the set. They are steamy paranormal romances, putting a werewolf pack against vampires. Dragon-shifter romance sits elsewhere in her catalogue, some of it co-written with Kara Lockharte, along with a Beauty and the Beast retelling.
