Danny Fahey
Danny Fahey combines Australian education, drama practice, poetry, and fiction in work for younger readers that draws on storytelling, performance, and moral choice. He has spent more than two decades in education and has worked at Trinity College and the University of Melbourne, including leadership in teaching and learning. The Christmas Maze follows Matthew, a boy haunted by his sister Lucy’s disappearance in 1947 Australia. Remembering a family story about a maze where wrongs can be reversed, he begins a difficult journey in the hope of bringing her home. IFWG Publishing International released The Christmas Maze: Where Hope Is Found in 2022, and the novel entered a youth-fiction category of the Aurealis Awards. The story combines historical setting with a supernatural quest, asking its young protagonist to move through fear, guilt, and difficult decisions. Fahey’s background in drama helps explain the novel’s emphasis on trials, encounters, and forward-moving scenes.
