Karen Kingsbury

Karen Kingsbury is closely associated with inspirational family fiction and the multi-book Baxter family world. A Baxter Family Christmas returns to John Baxter and his grown children for a holiday gathering shaped by grief, faith, reconciliation, and a difficult invitation to Christmas Eve dinner. Howard Books first issued it in 2016 as part of Kingsbury’s continuing Baxter stories. The family first became central through the Redemption series, which Kingsbury co-wrote with Gary Smalley, and later inspired the television adaptation The Baxters. Her background also includes newspaper and magazine writing, but novels about relationships tested by loss and belief form the core of her career. That emphasis helps explain why a Christmas reunion functions here as both a seasonal story and another chapter in a long family history.
