Davis Bunn

Davis Bunn brings international suspense and speculative fantasy together in Island of Time, which launches a sequence later continued by Forbidden. The story begins after a family and everything they owned disappear from ordinary history, leaving Interpol agent Jackson Burnett with evidence that other people quickly forget. He works beside Luca Tami, who understands arcane threats, and newly arrived agent Krys Duprey. Their investigation moves through France and Switzerland as unlawful magic alters memory and obstructs conventional police work. Severn House released the story in 2022. Bunn uses the Geneva branch of Interpol as an unusual institutional setting, pairing investigative procedure with rules of magic and time. Jackson, Luca, and Krys each bring earlier disappointments to the case, so the mystery also tests whether professional failure can become the starting point for another purpose. The vanished family provides the immediate puzzle, while the wider sequence examines who controls dangerous knowledge and how fragile a shared account of reality can become.
