Denise Wallace
Daddy's Little Secret began as coursework. Denise Wallace wrote it in an advanced novel-writing class at UCLA, taught by the novelist Dan Fante, and WildBlue Press published it in 2016. The book is her own family's story: her father, Wesley Wallace, was killed in Palm Beach, Florida, and in trying to understand why, she found he had been keeping a second life hidden from the household. She pressed detectives to keep working the case and the story later reached television. Wallace grew up in South Florida and moved to Los Angeles, where she completed the professional screenwriting programme at UCLA and now reads scripts and manuscripts professionally, judging them for film and television. Away from the desk she is a competitive powerlifter and took a California state title in 2010.
