Dima Zales

Dima Zales brings an earlier software-development career to speculative fiction. He worked in New York as a programmer and technology executive before turning to fiction full time in 2013, and he holds degrees in computer science and psychology. Mind Machines opens his Human++ trilogy, followed by Cyber Thoughts and Neural Web. The techno-thriller centers on venture capitalist Mike Cohen, whose mother's memory problems lead him toward a brain-altering technology called Brainocytes. Mike sees a possible medical breakthrough, while other interested parties recognize a tool with far wider power. Zales uses that conflict to examine memory, enhanced cognition, private investment, and the point at which technical ambition begins changing its inventor.
