Donna Hatch
Donna Hatch writes historical romance as well as romantic fantasy, with careful attention to social custom and character choice. Queen in Exile follows a royal protagonist forced from her homeland into an adventure that combines political danger, loyalty and romance; Hatch records that the novel received a 2010 Whitney Award nomination. The Stranger She Married opens her Rogue Hearts Regency series and introduces a marriage shaped by family pressure, uncertainty and hidden motives. Hatch later revised that novel while keeping its place at the beginning of the series. Read together, the two books show the range of her settings, from an invented kingdom to Regency England, while retaining her interest in trust and responsibility.
