Duane TUDAHL

Duane TUDAHL is an author, documentary producer, and researcher specializing in Prince's studio history. Prince and the Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions uses daily recording logs, archival material, and extensive interviews with musicians, singers, and engineers to chronicle Prince's work during 1983 and 1984. Rowman & Littlefield published the book in the Prince Studio Sessions series, and Questlove contributes its foreword. The detailed chronology follows the making of songs associated with Purple Rain and other projects, as well as rehearsals, live performances, and work involving the Revolution and the Time. Tudahl's session-by-session method places collaborators and studio practice alongside the familiar album history, showing how a dense period of recording developed across multiple locations and projects.
