Edward Noyes Westcott

Edward Noyes Westcott (1846-1898) was an American banker from Syracuse, New York, who turned to fiction late in life. He wrote only one novel, David Harum, drawing its shrewd hero from the upstate business world he knew. He died of tuberculosis a year before it became a runaway bestseller.
