Author: George Horace Lorimer
George Horace Lorimer (1869–1937) was an American author and editor best known for building The Saturday Evening Post into one of the most widely read magazines in the United States, a publication he ran as editor from 1899 until his retirement at the end of 1936. Before he turned to journalism he spent time in the meat-packing trade, experience he later mined for his fiction. His Letters from a Self-Made Merchant to His Son grew out of pieces he published in the Post and became a national bestseller in its own right.
