Author: Edward S. Kubany
Edward S. Kubany is a clinical psychologist and trauma researcher whose work has focused on post-traumatic stress, guilt, and cognitive treatment. Healing the Trauma of Domestic Violence presents a structured workbook derived from Cognitive Trauma Therapy, a program Kubany and colleagues developed and evaluated for women who had reached physical safety after abusive relationships. New Harbinger published the volume in 2004, crediting Mari McCaig and Edward S. Kubany and using the subtitle A Workbook for Women. Its exercises address trauma-related beliefs, stress management, self-advocacy, and recovery planning. Kubany previously worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs' National Center for PTSD in Honolulu. Peer-reviewed research and later VA clinical guidance continue to identify his team with the development of this specialised treatment approach.
