Eric S. Raymond

Eric S. Raymond is a software developer and essayist associated with the open-source movement. The Cathedral and the Bazaar contrasts centralized software production with the distributed model he observed in Linux and tested through fetchmail. First presented as a paper and later collected by O'Reilly, it argues that frequent releases and broad peer review can reveal problems quickly.
