Faith Erin Hicks is a Canadian cartoonist whose work spans original graphic novels, illustrated collaborations, and prose fiction. Comics Will Break Your Heart is her debut novel, a contemporary romance for teen readers published by Roaring Brook Press. It pairs Miriam, whose grandfather sold his share of a famous superhero property, with Weldon, heir to the family that prospered from it. Their relationship unfolds amid a dispute over creative ownership, family resentment, and comic-book culture. Hicks is also the writer and artist of the Nameless City trilogy and The Adventures of Superhero Girl. Her collaborative credits include illustrating Pumpkinheads for Rainbow Rowell and co-creating The Last of Us: American Dreams with Neil Druckmann.
