Jennifer E. Smith
1980
The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight covers twenty-four hours from a missed flight at JFK, and the entire romance happens in an airport, on a plane and at a wedding the narrator does not want to attend.
Smith writes contemporary young adult romance with tight time frames and characters dealing with divorce, grief and moving countries underneath the meet-cute.
She worked as an editor in New York. Windfall and Field Notes on Love followed, and Netflix adapted the first.
