Frances Barton Fox

Frances Barton Fox (born 1887) was an American writer active in the early twentieth century. She is best remembered for The Heart of Arethusa (1918), a coming-of-age novel set on a Kentucky farm and in the small towns nearby. Little is recorded of her life, but the book reflects a close familiarity with rural Southern manners and household routine of the period.
