Gabe Cole Novoa

Gabe Cole Novoa writes speculative fiction for teen readers, centering characters whose identities are often pushed to the margins of traditional fantasy. The Wicked Bargain, issued by Random House Children's Books and later Ember, is a Caribbean-inspired adventure built around seafaring, elemental magic, and a difficult family bargain. Novoa holds an MFA in Writing for Children and is identified by the publisher as an award-winning, New York Times bestselling author. His other books include The Diablo's Curse, Most Ardently, These Vengeful Gods, and the Beyond the Red trilogy, originally released under a former pseudonym. Across that body of work, familiar fantasy forms make room for Latinx, nonbinary, and transmasculine characters to occupy the center of the story.
