Gregory Allanther writes comic LitRPG and fantasy centered on older protagonists with practical priorities. An Old Man’s Journey follows Charles into the virtual world of Crossroads, where he wants to build a place his grandchildren will enjoy visiting. Other players mistake him for a quest-giving character, and his ordinary decisions begin redirecting their adventures. Allanther first developed the story on Royal Road before releasing a revised book edition, with Caleb Smith credited for illustration and Chris Ford for editing. He also created the Wizard's Tower sequence, returning to questions of independence, refuge, and community within game-shaped fantasy worlds.
