David Tallerman
David Tallerman is a British writer whose work ranges across fantasy, science fiction, crime, comics, and short fiction. The Black River Chronicles is his young-reader fantasy series with Michael Wills, beginning with Level One and following a mismatched group of students through a game-like academy world. Patchwerk, published by Tor.com in 2016, is a science-fiction novella about Dran Florrian, an inventor whose machine can disturb multiple possible realities. Beneath Ceaseless Skies-Issue 189 includes a Tallerman story, placing his work within a magazine devoted to literary adventure fantasy. These three credits show the breadth of his bibliography: collaborative series fiction, a tightly structured speculative novella, and short work written for a specialist periodical. Tallerman also created the comic-fantasy Tales of Easie Damasco sequence and the crime novel The Bad Neighbour. Across forms, he favors momentum, compromised protagonists, and worlds whose rules quickly become sources of danger, while maintaining a career that moves between independent magazines and major genre publishers.
