Holly Miller's second novel, What Might Have Been, runs a single decision both ways. Lucy has walked out of a job she disliked and has a half-written novel in a drawer; one strand keeps her in her seaside town alongside a photographer named Caleb, the other sends her to a London agency and back within reach of Max, the man she never quite got over. Putnam published it in 2022. Miller had come to fiction from marketing, magazine editing and copywriting, after studying creative writing at art school, and her debut, The Sight of You, was picked for the Richard and Judy club in 2020, sold into more than twenty territories and optioned for film. She is from Bedfordshire and lives in Norfolk. A third novel, The Spark, came in 2024.
