📚 1 Book ✍️ British Classics 📄 PDF & EPUB

Howard Pease (1863-1928) was an English writer, antiquary and magistrate who lived in Northumberland and died at Otterburn. His family's money came from railways and industry in the north country; he himself was a landowner, a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, and editor of the Northern Counties Magazine in Newcastle upon Tyne around 1900. Almost everything he wrote stayed inside the north east and the Scottish border country, from Borderland Studies (1893) and Tales of Northumbria (1899) to The Lord Wardens of the Marches of England and Scotland (1913) and Border Ghost Stories (1919). He is not the American Howard Pease (1894-1974), who wrote the Tod Moran sea adventure novels for young readers.
