J. J. Connington

J. J. Connington was the pen name of Alfred Walter Stewart (1880-1947), a Scottish chemist who taught at Queen's University Belfast and published scholarly work on atomic theory. He is best remembered for his detective fiction, though he also produced this early venture into science fiction and disaster.
