Jan Drexler
Jan Drexler writes inspirational historical romance, often placing Amish communities within periods of migration and social change. Family ties to Amish, Mennonite, and Brethren ancestors informed her interest in Plain life, while years of homeschooling and frequent moves helped shape her attention to family and place. The Amish Nanny’s Sweetheart appeared from Love Inspired Historicals in 2018 as the second and final Amish Country Brides novel, following An Amish Courtship. Its story centers on Judith Lapp, who cares for her nephew, and Guy Hoover, an Englischer farmworker employed by an Amish family. Judith agrees to teach Guy Pennsylvania Dutch, and their lessons deepen a courtship shaped by his wish to belong and her hope for a home of her own. Drexler also wrote the Journey to Pleasant Prairie and Amish of Weaver’s Creek series. Across these books, faith, work, kinship, and rural community give romantic decisions practical and historical weight.
