Jana Aston writes contemporary romantic comedy built around mistaken identities, awkward plans, and rapid reversals. Sure Thing, released in 2017, opens her Best Laid Plans series. The novel follows Violet, who agrees to impersonate her twin sister Daisy for a work assignment and meets Jennings during the resulting trip. The setup lets Aston turn a practical deception into a test of how well the characters understand one another. Plan B continues the two-book sequence with a separate pairing. Aston published Sure Thing through CreateSpace, and the novel later appeared in translation, including the German edition Just One Night.
