Jason Ayres

Jason Ayres builds time-travel stories around ordinary lives, British settings, and the consequences of knowing what comes next. My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday reverses the usual direction of the journey: Thomas Scott wakes on the final day of his life, then moves backward through the calendar one day at a time. The novel follows him from middle age toward childhood as he pieces together his family history and considers whether to alter it. Ayres places the story in and around Oxford across the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. Although it belongs to the wider Time Bubble world, his official account presents it as a standalone novel, with its reverse chronology carrying the central idea. An audiobook narrated by Paul Messingham further connects the story to its Oxford setting and conversational style.
