Jay Crownover

Crownover cut hair in Denver salons and wrote at night, then published Rule in 2013, the first of the Marked Men books about heavily tattooed men in that city and the people who fall for them. The series sold in the millions and ended the salon career. It arrived with the New Adult wave of the early 2010s, when romance about characters barely out of their teens briefly took over the charts. Welcome to the Point carried the same register into rougher neighbourhoods.
