Jenn McKinlay
Jenn McKinlay came to crime fiction from behind a library desk. She read English literature and library science at Southern Connecticut State University, worked in libraries in Connecticut and later Arizona, and now writes full time from Scottsdale, the setting of her Cupcake Bakery mysteries, the first of which appeared in 2010. Books Can Be Deceiving (2011) opened the Library Lover's Mysteries, whose amateur sleuth runs a small Connecticut town library. She has written the Good Buy Girls books as Josie Belle and a decoupage series as Lucy Lawrence. Romantic comedy runs alongside the cozies: Paris is Always a Good Idea (2020), later adapted for Hallmark+, and Summer Reading (Berkley, 2023), in which a chef with dyslexia spends a Martha's Vineyard summer sparring with an interim library director. Her Museum of Literature novellas include The Attraction Distraction and It Happened One Christmas Eve, both from 2022 and both gathered, with a third, into BOOKED.
