Jennifer Echols writes romantic fiction for teenage readers, balancing comic and dramatic registers while often using Southern settings shaped by school, work, and community. Biggest Flirts opens the Superlatives trilogy, following classmates Tia and Will after a yearbook vote changes how they see their friendship. Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers published it in 2014. Love on the Edge collects two earlier novels, Going Too Far and Forget You, in one volume from MTV Books. Echols grew up beside a lake in Alabama, a landscape that has influenced several of her stories. Her books have received honors including the National Readers' Choice Award and the Booksellers' Best Award, while Going Too Far became a RITA finalist and received an American Library Association nomination.
