Jessica Nordell is a science and culture journalist who investigates how institutions can recognize and reduce hidden prejudice. The End of Bias follows researchers, physicians, educators, police officers, and workplace leaders testing whether ingrained patterns can change. Rather than treating bias as an abstract flaw, Nordell examines interventions, measurement, accountability, and the conditions that make reform last. Metropolitan Books published the work after fifteen years of reporting and research. Nordell previously worked in public radio and studied physics before moving into journalism. The book became a finalist for the NYPL Helen Bernstein Award for Excellence in Journalism, the Lukas Book Prize, and the Royal Society Science Book Prize.
