Laura Griffin
1973
Laura Griffin draws on her earlier work in journalism to write romantic suspense with reporters, forensic specialists and investigators at its centre. Hidden opens the Texas Murder Files series, bringing investigative reporter Bailey Rhoads together with Austin police detective Jacob Merritt after a woman’s death near a city trail. Their separate lines of inquiry reveal a larger pattern while the professional relationship becomes personal. Berkley issued Hidden in 2020. Griffin’s bibliography also encompasses the Tracers series, built around the fictional Delphi Center, and the Wolfe Security novels. She has received the Romance Writers of America RITA Award and published more than thirty books and novellas. Across her series, research and investigative process give the suspense its structure.
