Lauren Henderson
Lauren Henderson moves among crime fiction, romantic comedy, and mysteries for teen readers, drawing on her career in British journalism. Kiss in the Dark is the third Scarlett Wakefield mystery. It follows a boarding-school student investigating a campus death and secrets connected to her parents after the events of Kiss Me Kill Me and Kisses and Lies. Kissing in Italian continues a separate pair of romances begun with Flirting in Italian, returning Violet to Tuscany as her relationship with Luca becomes entangled with questions about their families. Delacorte Press published both strands in the United States. Henderson was born in London, studied English literature at Cambridge University, and wrote for newspapers and music magazines before living in Tuscany and later New York. Her Sam Jones mysteries sit beside romantic comedies and editorial work with Stella Duffy on the crime anthology Tart Noir. That range explains the contrasting tones of these books: English boarding-school suspense in one sequence, then travel, romance, and family mystery in an Italian setting Henderson knew firsthand.
