Laurie Alice Eakes

Laurie Alice Eakes places questions of faith, independence, and affection within historical romance. A Flight of Fancy is the second Daughters of Bainbridge House novel and centers on Cassandra Bainbridge, whose fascination with ballooning offers a path beyond the social expectations of Regency England. Revell released the book in 2012, positioning it between A Necessary Deception and A Reluctant Courtship in the three-volume sequence. Eakes has also written the Midwives series and other historical novels. Her publisher biography notes a National Readers Choice Award for her Regency novel Family Guardian. In A Flight of Fancy, period detail and early aeronautics give Cassandra's personal decisions a distinctive historical setting.
