Lena Diaz
Lena Diaz writes romantic suspense in which investigations place trust and personal history under pressure. A Kentucky native based in northeast Florida, she has received the Daphne du Maurier Award and the Booksellers' Best Award for romantic suspense. HarperCollins published Ashes, Ashes, They All Fall Dead through Avon Impulse in 2013 as the third Deadly Games thriller. FBI agent Tessa James receives a sequence of ominous letters at the Savannah office, each linking an unknown victim to a childhood rhyme. Consultant Matt Buchanan joins her inquiry, but evidence begins pointing toward years of Tessa's own past that she cannot remember. Diaz builds the novel around that uncertainty, pairing a procedural search with a partnership strained by incomplete memory and mounting personal stakes. The book follows He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not and Simon Says Die, then leads into Take the Key and Lock Her Up. Ashes, Ashes, They All Fall Dead thus occupies a defined place in Diaz's continuing suspense series.
