Linda Carroll-Bradd

Linda Carroll-Bradd writes contemporary and historical romance, often using western settings, family responsibilities, and practical work to bring her characters together. A Quilter for Quint, published in 2021, is the second Mail-Order Mama story. It pairs Melisande Avenelle, a Newport woman devoted to quilt making, with Quinton Aznar, a Texas widower who trains horses for the Army and raises a young son. Melisande travels west after correspondence arranged by the older generation creates expectations neither prospective partner fully controls. Her eye for fabric and color gives the story a creative thread, while Quint's household and demanding occupation supply its frontier rhythm. The novel uses the mail-order-marriage premise to explore adjustment, parenting, and the gradual building of trust. Carroll-Bradd's wider bibliography includes linked western and small-town stories, and A Quilter for Quint reflects her preference for capable working characters whose relationship develops through shared obligations rather than instant ease.
