Linda Holmes

Holmes practised law, quit, and became a pop culture critic at NPR, where she hosts Pop Culture Happy Hour and has spent years arguing in public that liking things is a legitimate way to spend a life. Evvie Drake Starts Over concerns a widow who is relieved her husband is dead and a pitcher who has lost the ability to throw. Flying Solo is about a woman going through an aunt's house in Maine. She wrote for years at NPR's Monkey See blog before either of them.
