The Last Mrs. Parrish sets a social climber on a wealthy Connecticut wife and then hands the narration to the wife, at which point the reader discovers they have been reading the wrong book.

The Wife Stalker and The Senator's Wife followed. The structure is the product: a reversal that reframes the first half rather than merely surprising it.
