Lonely Planet Kids
Lonely Planet began in 1973 when Tony and Maureen Wheeler wrote up their overland journey from London to Australia on a kitchen table and sold it as Across Asia on the Cheap. The children's imprint came much later, in 2015, and Amazing World Atlas belongs to it: a continent-by-continent atlas for readers of about eight to twelve, with maps, photographs and pages of the sort of fact a child repeats at dinner. It won a Blue Peter Book Award. The name on the cover is the imprint; the writers, illustrators and cartographers are listed in the credits inside. Lonely Planet is now owned by Red Ventures.
