M.R. Carey

M.R. Carey is the name Mike Carey puts on his novels, keeping them distinct from twenty years of comics work on Lucifer, Hellblazer and X-Men. The Girl With All the Gifts started as a short story and became a novel about a fungal infection that has emptied Britain, told largely through a child who is at once a pupil and a specimen. He wrote the film adaptation himself. He taught in London schools before the comics.
