Margaret Cavendish

Margaret Cavendish, Duchess of Newcastle (1623-1673), was an English writer, poet, and natural philosopher. Unusually for her time she published prolifically under her own name, addressing science, gender, and society, and her fiction anticipated genres that would not be named for centuries.
