Author: Margaret Peterson
Margaret Peterson (1883–1933) was a British novelist born in Bombay, India, the daughter of a Sanskrit professor, who later settled at Rudgwick in Sussex, England. She won the Andrew Melrose Prize in 1913 for her first novel, The Lure of the Little Drum, chosen by a panel that included Joseph Conrad. Over a busy career she published close to thirty books, mostly romantic and dramatic fiction, and built a large and loyal readership, especially among women.
